Client Overview

OOLIO’s client base spans restaurants, cafes, stadia, bars, clubs, hotels, quick-service restaurants (QSR), and many other food service venues.

In 2022, OOLIO consolidated two large companies and six brands under a single banner. This amalgamation created exciting opportunities, however, it also posed significant marketing challenges. They needed to unify their messaging, redefine their brand presence, and build a marketing team that could support the company’s ambitious goals. Recognising that their internal team lacked the necessary expertise, OOLIO sought an external partner to guide them through this transformative period. After a referral and a deep dive into our approach, Three Piece Marketing was appointed on an initial six-month retainer

The Challenge

When we joined OOLIO, the task ahead was clear yet layered in complexity:

  • Develop a strategic roadmap that aligned with their organisational goals.
  • Build team capability by leveraging individual strengths and creating cohesion.
  • Establish scalable marketing procedures and processes.
  • Maintain ongoing marketing activity to support sales and drive momentum.

To achieve these objectives, our Head of Strategy, Hamish, stepped in as OOLIO’s Interim Marketing Manager, working with the team up to three days a week.

Phase 1: Laying the Foundations

Hamish’s first priority was to assess the capabilities of OOLIO’s six-person marketing team, identifying their individual strengths and areas for development. Concurrently, he engaged with the C-Suite to understand the company’s core objectives and growth imperatives.

This work culminated in the creation of a strategic marketing framework, which was presented and approved by the board of directors. The framework provided a clear roadmap for the team, aligning their efforts with OOLIO’s overarching business goals while fostering a stronger, more unified function within the organisation.

Phase 2: Evolving the Brand

During the initial months, it became evident that OOLIO’s marketing challenges extended beyond team structure and processes. While individual products under the OOLIO banner were recognised within their market segments, there was little connection to the overarching brand.

To address this, he partnered with key stakeholders to:

  • Develop a cohesive brand identity: This included creating new brand identities for OOLIO’s product suite.
  • Design and implement a suite of correlated logos: These logos unified the product offerings under a single, recognisable brand while maintaining the individuality of each product.
  • Roll out the new branding: This was executed across all marketing materials, digital platforms, and even the products themselves.

The result was instantly evident: A clear and professional brand presence that elevated the perception of OOLIO in the market and created stronger brand affinity across their portfolio.

Phase 3: Building Digital Momentum

What began as a six-month engagement evolved into an 18-month partnership, reflecting the depth of transformation required, the strength of our relationship with the client, and the results achieved.

As part of this evolution, Three Piece Marketing transitioned a permanent Head of Marketing into the business to ensure continuity and growth beyond our initial engagement. Alongside this, we expanded our scope to build OOLIO’s digital marketing ecosystem, including:

  • Developing wireframes for three key websites that have since been built and launched.
  • Creating and executing search marketing plans and lead generation campaigns to boost digital visibility and drive conversions.
  • Rolling out SEO strategies: We presented search roadmaps for multiple brands and are currently two months into their delivery (as of January 2025).

By leveraging a multi-channel digital strategy, OOLIO is now better positioned to amplify its presence in competitive markets and drive meaningful results.

WHAT THE CLIENT HAD TO SAY

“Three Piece Marketing became an integral part of our team during a critical period of transformation. They brought structure to our marketing efforts, clarity to our brand, and energy to our digital strategy. Hamish’s leadership was instrumental in unifying our team and setting us up for success. Thanks to their efforts, we’ve not only built a strong marketing foundation but also positioned OOLIO to thrive in the years to come.”
