In 2022, OOLIO consolidated two large companies and six brands under a single banner. This amalgamation created exciting opportunities, however, it also posed significant marketing challenges. They needed to unify their messaging, redefine their brand presence, and build a marketing team that could support the company’s ambitious goals. Recognising that their internal team lacked the necessary expertise, OOLIO sought an external partner to guide them through this transformative period. When we joined OOLIO, the task ahead was clear yet layered in complexity:
To achieve these objectives, our Head of Strategy, Hamish, stepped in as OOLIO’s Interim Marketing Manager, working with the team up to three days a week.
Hamish’s first priority was to assess the capabilities of OOLIO’s six-person marketing team, identifying their individual strengths and areas for development. Concurrently, he engaged with the C-Suite to understand the company’s core objectives and growth imperatives.
This work culminated in the creation of a strategic marketing framework, which was presented and approved by the board of directors. The framework provided a clear roadmap for the team, aligning their efforts with OOLIO’s overarching business goals while fostering a stronger, more unified function within the organisation.
During the initial months, it became evident that OOLIO’s marketing challenges extended beyond team structure and processes. While individual products under the OOLIO banner were recognised within their market segments, there was little connection to the overarching brand.
