Elevating Global Platforms with Maintenance and UX Enhancements

Since 2015, PingPong, a global payments facilitator, has been assisting e-commerce websites that run on platforms like Amazon, Wish, NewEgg, and others. Their role goes beyond just facilitating transactions; they focus on enabling these businesses to not only process essential transactions but also to keep a larger share of each sale. Over this time, they have collaborated with over 750,000 businesses and processed transactions worth more than USD $15 billion.

PingPong’s approach is designed to help these merchants reduce expenses related to cross-border transactions, VAT payments, supplier payments, and more. However, when the COVID lockdown hit, the US team needed a partner to assist with website maintenance, specifically in implementing fresh creative elements and developing landing pages.

Project Overview: Initial Brief

From our initial Zoom meeting, it was evident that PingPong boasted an exceptional team. They possessed in-depth knowledge of their product, a profound understanding of their market, and a strategic plan for expanding their customer base.

Although their in-house resources had crafted impressive landing page concepts, they lacked the expertise to bring their vision to life. Furthermore, while they had devised designs and user interfaces (UI) for their new landing pages and homepage replacement, it became apparent that the Three-Piece Marketing Team could enhance the user experience (UX). While the client had provided the necessary layouts, we identified a misalignment between the new creative and the existing site in terms of site navigation and user intent.

We delivered recommendations for improvements that would enhance the UX without compromising the intended UI. The client embraced these recommendations, and upon receiving approval, initiated the development phase.

Building with the Future in Mind

What initially began as a single project involving the development of a new homepage and three landing pages soon evolved into multiple support projects. Over the course of several months, we collaborated closely with key individuals at PingPong to:

  1. Enhance the footer.
  2. Simplify the menu structure.
  3. Introduce a new transaction calculator.
  4. Craft event pages featuring lead-capture forms.
  5. Address backend code issues to improve SEO and the code base.
  6. Update image assets.

As necessary, we engaged in discussions with the client to propose enhancements. However, the client’s primary priority was timely delivery, given that a substantial portion of the work was time-sensitive and required prompt execution.
The Three-Piece Marketing team takes pride in having met all deadlines during a difficult time, and fulfilling the client’s requirements successfully.
